Why install it

• Opens from the home screen

  Its own icon, beside every other app. No typing an address, no hunting through tabs.

  No address bar and no browser toolbar, so the punch buttons sit where your thumb already is.

• Starts faster, and starts offline

  The app itself is stored on the device. With no signal it still opens and tells you so, instead of showing a browser error.

• Nothing to update

  No app store, no downloads, no permissions to review. New versions arrive on their own.

What it can and cannot do

It is the same app as the website

Installing does not add code to your phone beyond what the website already runs. It gets no access it did not have in the browser.

Camera and location are still asked for

Both are requested the first time you check in, by the operating system, and both can be refused or revoked in your device settings at any time.

Removing it is removing an icon

Delete it the way you delete any app. Nothing is left behind on the device, and your attendance record is unaffected — it lives with your employer, not here.
